Coche-Dury Bourgogne Rouge 2017

90 points John Gilman
As I mentioned in the introduction, the 2017 red wines from the domaine are stellar this year, and this starts right out with this lovely Bourgogne Rouge. The bouquet is really lovely, wafting from the glass in a mix of red and black cherries, woodsmoke, a touch of gamebird, dark soil tones and a bit of upper register smokiness. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and shows off a lovely core, with good soil signature, just a touch of tannin and a long, vibrant finish. This will drink well with only a year or two in the cellar, but will also age very well indeed. (12/2019)
Burghound
A super-fresh nose combines notes of red currant with those of earth and black cherry. The delicious, caressing and nicely voluminous flavors possess only average density but there is very good depth and persistence on the bitter cherry-inflected finish. A fine quality Bourgogne. (4/2019)
Wine Advocate
Bursting with aromas of cherries, strawberries and spices, the 2017 Bourgogne Pinot Noir is medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, with melting tannins and an expressive core of fruit, concluding with fine persistence on the finish. This is an utterly delicious Bourgogne Rouge that's already hard to resist. (WK) (1/2020)
