The 2018 vintage in the Walla Walla Valley was ideal, with September and October being perfect for ripening Cabernet Franc. Warm days and cold nights preserved the freshness of the fruit. The wine opens with aromas of cassis, black cherry, spiced chocolate, anise, cigar box and graphite followed by flavors of red plum fruit with notes of sassafras, baking spice and roasted cocoa nibs. All nicely framed with fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity.
